Get to know me...

Where to begin? To be honest,  this was probably the hardest part for me while creating my website.

There is so much you can revile about a photographer through his work, his photos, moments captured in his lens.  But I truly think that sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone and deliver your story by words, so that’s what I will try to do here…

Six years ago my dear husband bought me a birthday gift, my first camera (Nikon D90).

That was the moment when the visions and voices in my mind became real pictures.

Since I can remember myself, I always  payed attention to details, Looking at people on the street, trying to imagine their life stories...

For  20 years I was  just an observer, seeking, watching and noticing. When I held my camera for the first time I realized that I am entering a whole new world of relationships.

Relationships between people and my camera, relations between me and my camera, me and other people, light, darkness, shadows and mostly, between the moments I see and the moments I am lucky to capture…

Now I just needed to wait for it to happen, and it did. Things happened, moments of my kids growing, me as a mother exploring motherhood. From day to day I learned more about them, more about myself, all thanks to this amazing gift of photography in my life.

I was born and raised in Jerusalem, a fascinating city which I find extremely inspiring, and with every day that passes I get to know and explore new parts of it...

My parents named me Orit. in Hebrew "Or" means light. For many years I disliked my name,

but now I have finally made peace with it as a photographer.

First, you need to search for the light before you even hold up the camera.

When you find light, you need capture it at the right moment and the right exposure.

Finally, you need to learn how to use it...
If you ask me, this is true not only in photography, but in life too.

I was lucky to find the light and I hope that you will find ME in my pictures.

There is so much you can say about photography, for me it is a way of life, a way to express feelings, moods, and thoughts, a way of expressing myself. I love documenting people, nature, urban life, abstract compositions, and the list just keeps growing…

I live in Modiin \ Israel with my dear family, I look forward to traveling as much as I can, exploring  new and fascinating regions, cultures and minds. I need to make sure that my camera will always be a part of me...
